We agree with the "Statement of Faith" and "Our Belief" as detailed on the IAHR website (see Links) in their section entitled "About Healing Rooms". An extract is below:
We believe the 53rd chapter of Isaiah holds the key to our redemption, spiritual and physical. Isaiah 53:6 says, ". . . the Lord laid on Him the guilt and sins of us all." This verse provides for our salvation. In Isaiah 53:4 it says, in the Hebrew, "Surely He has borne our sicknesses, and carried our pains." This verse provides for healing. Matthew takes this verse from the Old Testament to the new in Matthew 8:17 when he says, "This fulfilled the word of the Lord through Isaiah, who said, He took our sicknesses and removed our diseases". If we can believe that God laid our guilt and sins on Jesus, and because He laid them on Him there is salvation for us, then we can also believe what Isaiah tells us that He also laid our sickness and disease on Jesus and because of that healing is for us also.
Throughout the whole Bible (from Genesis to Revelation) it is clear that God's purpose for Man includes healing as well as salvation, e.g. "I am the Lord who heals" (Exodus 15:26). This is explained in our Foundational Seminars. |
